SNOW day!!

Well it finally came! I've been waiting for weeks for a snow storm and right when I started to give up, it came outta left field. We woke up this morning with snow on the ground! It was only about an inch but hey, I'll take what I can get! I've been dying for Lucy to get a chance to play in it. She LOVED it! She was a bit skeptical at first but once she warmed up to it, she was like a mad woman running around in it!

Don't judge the anti-snow gear. We skipped out on it thinking it was just a waste of money since it wasn't going to snow. Now I'm kicking myself! Oh well. She had on LOTS of layers and had "snow" much fun regardless. :)

14 months - Lucy update

14 months.. can you believe it? Time sure is ticking!

I haven't done a Lucy update in awhile so I figured it was probably time. I took some pictures of her today while she was playing so you can see how big my baby is now! It's so sad because I look at her and her baby look is fading so fast. She's starting to look (and act) more and more like a toddler these days.

Don't you think? She is getting way too big! She hasn't been to the doctors since her 1 year check-up so I'm not quite sure how much she weighs or how tall she is. If I had to guess her weight, I'd say she was around 23/24 lbs. Maybe not even that much since she is really starting to grow in height and is starting to thin out a lot. She has to go back at 15 months so I will know for sure then!

She just babbles away these days. She sure is a chatter box! And she's loud. I don't know why but she always feels the need to be the loudest in the room. She says lots of different words. Her favorites are still dada and momma but she says bird, doggy, ba-ba (for bottle), night-night, bye, hi, no, wee, mine, look, here.. just to name a few. Her biggest word is probably "touchdown". All she has to do is look at the t.v. and if she notices football is on she immediately will put her hands in the air and scream "touchdown". Wonder who taught her that? LOL

Her all-time favorite thing these days is watching Elmo. It's almost an obsession, really. I have to sometimes hide the iPad or distract her because she literally could watch Elmo all.day.long. She likes Sesame Street ok and she'll watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse but they don't hold her attention very long. The minute she hears Elmo's voice though, it's on! She will sit for hours, literally. (Of course I don't allow that!) She's also really getting more into her baby dolls and stuffed animals. She loves pushing them around in their strollers and she has a play-pen and car seat for them too. She sure is a good little mommy!

Her favorite foods are pasta, bananas, apples, any type of meat (especially chicken and beef), and lately she's really been liking carrots. She's really not very picky though and will eat anything! She still is not a fan of juice and prefers water in her sippy cups. She's still on her bottle and it's one thing I don't see us being able to let go of any time soon! Although I will continue to try and limit them as much as possible.

As you can see, she's growing like a weed! This really is such a fun age and it's incredible how much she learns so fast. Mark and I love watching her say or do something new almost every single day. She's got her daddy's brains.. like he likes to say. ;)

Ok, I'm off to bed. We're heading to the Redskins game all day tomorrow so I need my rest. Wish them luck... GO SKINS!! :)

Hello 2013!

Hi, remember me!?

I am officially the lousiest blogger, I know. But guess what? I'm baaaack and if you can't tell, I gave my blog a little makeover for the new year. I'm hoping a new look will help me get back into the swing of things so I can start blogging again more frequently.

Before I get to anything, I first want to start off by wishing all of my wonderful blog-followers a HAPPY NEW YEAR!! I hope this coming year treats everyone good. :) You won't believe the crazy night we had last night celebrating. It was filled with lots of booze (soda for us, milk for the girl), partying (on the couch watching repeats of House Hunters and bath-time fun), and we were up alllll night (Ok, that's a lie). I may not have even been awake to see the ball drop but ehh, that's ok! It sure was not how I used to spend my New Years Eve's but there's nothing I love more now than having family nights with my little family. Here's a picture of us on the couch last night playing with the iPad..

Hard partying as you can tell. :) Last night Lucy was wound up past her bedtime so I ended up having to rock her to sleep for what felt like an hour. We rocked together forever as she fought and fought her sleep. She had her head on my chest and every minute or so she would lift her head and purse her lips for a kiss so we'd kiss and she'd lay back down. She probably did it at least 20 times and I couldn't help but think to myself that there is nothing better than moments like that. It made me realize there wasn't anywhere else I would rather be last night than home getting lovin' from my baby.

So I seriously hate setting New Years resolutions because lets face it, by February who really is still thinking about their New Years resolutions? Even though they never seem to really stick, I love the whole idea of starting a new year with new goals Of course goals can be set at any time but starting them on the first day of a new year just seems much more fitting.

Last night Mark and I were talking about our goals for this year and we both decided our number 1 goal this year is to get the house in order to be listed by the spring. We love (ok, that's too strong of a word, LIKE is more like it) our little townhouse but we are very quickly out growing it. Nothing makes me more frustrated than not having anywhere to put our every-growing stuff. I can't tell you how often I dream about having more closet space, a play room for Lucy, a bigger kitchen, a bigger living room for guests, our own driveway, a yard (!!!!).. the list goes on! We are just soooo tired of living in such close quarters to our neighbors that we are beyond ready to sell and get a single family home. So, my friends, I am keeping my fingers crossed that the market is good enough by the spring that we can list and sell our home and move into a bigger home! I'm hoping you'll see that moving post posted here sometime this year. :)

2012 was overall a good year for me. The worst part of the year is losing my Pee-Paw in May. He was the closest family member I've ever lost and I loved him so much and will forever miss him. Besides that though, everything was good. I got to watch my baby grow up so much this year. I saw her roll over, sit up on her own, crawl, and walk all in one year. I graduated from college in the spring, went on a nice vacation in July with my family, had lots of fun times with my friends, started a photography business (that is still going strong), got a raise at work, and the list goes on! So overall I have to say 2012 was good to me.

On that note, I'm ready for you 2013. I cannot wait to see what this year has in store for me and my family. Oh, and I failed to mention.. one of my many goals for this year was to blog more. So I'm taking you along for the journey this year. Bring it on!
